Story

Daniel slumped back in his desk chair, the college application portal mocking him with its blinking cursor. He had spent weeks agonizing over his essays, each rejection email stinging worse than the last. "Maybe this whole marketing thing is not for me" he muttered, staring at the ceiling plastered with motivational quotes - now feeling hollow and ironic. Suddenly, his phone buzzed. It was Sarah, a bubbly senior known for acing every class and internship. "Hey stranger," she chirped. "I saw you were applying for marketing jobs! Ever heard of The Secret?" Intrigued, Daniel met Sarah at their favourite coffee shop, Starbucks. She explained the Law of Attraction, how focusing on your desires can attract them. "Imagine your dream job," Sarah said, swirling her latte, "See yourself excelling in a positive work environment and impressing your employers. Believe it is possible." Daniel scoffed. "Sounds a little woo-woo, does it not?" Sarah winked. "Maybe. But what have you got to lose?" That night, Daniel decided to try it. Every morning, he visualized himself thriving in a marketing role, crafting compelling campaigns and brainstorming creative ideas. He replaced "I will never get this job" with "I am capable and I am a passionate marketer... eventually, someone has to agree!" He even started a gratitude journal, listing skills he possessed and experiences that made him a perfect fit for the role. It was not a magic switch. Doubts still lingered. But, Daniel felt a shift. He started attending marketing webinars, volunteered at a local start-up, and reached out to professionals for informational interviews. He practiced his interview skills, his confidence growing with each session. Then, an email arrived - an interview request from his dream marketing agency! During the interview, Daniel spoke with passion about his ideas, his enthusiasm evident. He also showed gratitude for the interview and aroused enthusiasm among the interviewer and employees in the building, by asking them questions about their interests. Guess what? Not only did he land the job, He got a better offer and received a letter of employment on the same day! Later, celebrating with Sarah, Daniel raised his glass. "Thank you for sharing The Secret. It was not just about visualising, it was about believing in myself and taking action. More importantly, having unwavering faith in God and being patient, helped me overcome the adversities and self doubt." He smiled, realising, the universe(as described in The Secret) might not bend to your every whim, but with a positive mindset and perseverance, you could definitely bend it in your favour.
