Silence and a Smile
Happy and successful people have two things on their lips, 'Smile and Silence'.
Story
A young lady once asked her mother, "Why do you always smile and remain silent, even when others are clearly angry and are shouting?" The mother replied, "A smile can solve a problem, while silence can avoid one." The young lady replied with sarcasm, "Okay Buddha, please do tell me more!" The mother giggled. "When you are silent, you are not adding to the problem. You are giving yourself and the other person a chance to calm down and think clearly. You are also giving yourself a chance to listen to what the other person is really saying, without being influenced by your own thoughts and emotions." The lady thought about this for a moment. "I see," she said. "But what about a smile? How can a smile solve a problem?" The mother replied, "A smile is a sign of kindness and compassion. It can make the other person feel better, even if they are angry or upset. It can also show them that you are not taking their problem personally, and that you are there to help." The lady smiled. "Thank you, mother," she said. "I understand now." The mother nodded. "Remember," she said, "a smile and silence are both powerful tools. Use them wisely, and they will help you to live a happier and more peaceful life." The young lady went on to become a wise and respected woman herself. She often told her children and friends about the story of a smile and silence, and how they could be used to solve problems and improve relationships. The story of a smile and silence is a reminder that sometimes, the best way to deal with a problem is to say nothing at all. Silence can be a powerful tool for calming down emotions, listening to others, and finding solutions. It can also be a way to show kindness and compassion, and to create a more peaceful environment. The next time you are faced with a problem, try using a smile and silence. You may be surprised at how effective they can be. Thank you for reading and we appreciate the time you spend with us.
